Statistics and Summaries | Bucks remain undefeated, Nets and Grizzlies fall

In form, would the Hawks be the first to beat the Bucks? No, because Giannis Antetokounmpo and his gang are solid. Fifth win in five matches for the 2021 champions.

For the Nets, though, it’s their fourth straight loss. Unable to defend, Kevin Durant and company lose to the Pacers and their rookie Bennedict Mathurin. Ultimately, the Grizzlies came close to winning without Ja Morant against Utah.

Brooklyn-Indiana: 116-125

Bennedict Mathurin confirms his good start to the season. The rookie scored a new career-high 32 points in Brooklyn against the Nets, who clearly aren’t up to the task on defense.

Indiana pulled away in the third quarter and in the final act, Kevin Durant, with four straight points, brought the Nets back. A triple by Chris Duarte and a 6-0 later, the Pacers secured their victory despite 61 points from Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

Milwaukee-Atlanta: 123-115

Giannis Antetokounmpo was too strong. Especially when he also gets help from Jrue Holiday (34 points each). The Bucks took control of the game in the first half, then in the second, Giannis went wild with 30 points.

Atlanta trails ten points at the start of the fourth quarter, when Trae Young (42 points) leads the Hawks to a tie. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Trae Young trade baskets, but the 2021 Finals MVP gets the last laugh, with Milwaukee 7-0.

Utah-Memphis: 124-123

Even without Ja Morant, the Grizzlies started the game well before giving up ground. In the third quarter, they go 0-15 to regain control, Desmond Bane (32 points) and Dillon Brooks (30) being prolific to make up for the midfielder’s absence.

But Utah is still there. In the “money moment,” the two teams trade important baskets. Desmond Bane gives Memphis a five point lead, Lauri Markkannen responds with 3 points and Kelly Olynyk chases. Malik Beasley also brings his stone to the building and the Jazz end up winning, on the wire.
